Faith
Faith, as defined by Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary is as follows:
1 a : allegiance to duty or a person : loyalty
b (1) : fidelity to one’s promises (2) : sincerity of intentions2a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2): complete trust3: something that is believed especially with strong conviction; especially : a system of religious beliefs <the Protestant faith>
While, I question the “Belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion”, I do have a certain faith in a greater, worldly power. Recently,i’ve been experiencing some hardships and have had some acts of human kindness sent my way. My religious counterparts would refer to these acts as a blessing, as in, from GOD. Having been raised in a Catholic Church as a child, and attending Christian non-denominational services as a teen to not actively practicing now, religion has been ingrained in me despite what I feel now. This mindset, makes me wonder if the acts of kindness bestowed upon me are indeed blessing from GOD. I did thank him, just in case but I feel guilty for the cynical voices in my head.
